What Methods Are Used To Identify What Type Of Organic Cleaning Your Area Rug Needs?
Fiber
This involves determining if your rug is synthetic, wool, silk, a blend of fibers, hand woven, etc. Note: we CAN clean wool because we’re 100% organic.
Origin
Some rugs are custom made or from a different region – depending on the region some rug dyes are more stable than others. We carefully test and assess the stability of dyes in a rug of this type.
Size
One question we will ask when providing a quote: How large is your rug? Some standard rug sizes are 5’x7’, 8’x10’, and 9’x12’ – However, many rugs come in custom sizes. Having your rug sizes ready when you complete our quote tool will allow us to provide you with the most accurate quote.
Thickness
We take into account the thickness of your rug. Some rugs are thin, shag, hand woven, etc.
Backing
There are various types of backing used for rugs and the cleaning method is sometimes adjusted based on this factor.
Fringe
There are a variety of fringing techniques used when rugs are made. We use the right method for the fringe on your rug.
Soil Level

We use this method, combined with powerful natural solutions, to clean the top surface of the area rug and (if requested) the backing as well. Hot steam extraction is highly effective and yet very economical.

Inspection and protection of all area rugs to be cleaned. This is your chance to tell your technician about any concerns and to point out spots and stains. We will also protect your walls with corner guards and wear protective shoe covers.
2. Vacuum
Vacuum all area rugs, even if you have recently done so to pick up and loose particulate soil and hair.
3. Organic Pre-Spray
Hot Organic Pre-spray over the entire area rug, not just the spots. This will emulsify dirt, grime, bug parts, pet hair, construction dust, etc – What’s in our solutions? Things like grapefruit seed extract, Orange and Lime Peel, Coconut and Corn Surfactants.
4. Enzyme Treatment
Enzyme treatment in up to 3 areas for spot removal of drink and food stains, small pet accidents and spills.
5. Power Brush
The Barefoot Power Brush uses thousands of tiny rotating bristles to bring up dirt from up from deep in your area rug fibers.
6. Hot Steam Extraction
Hot steam Extraction which removed, sanitizes, and blasts away stains using super-heated water from our truck-mounted equipment.
7. Carpet Grooming
Groom area rug so that its fibers stand up straight for fastest drying.
